
Lara Odelusi
Lara Odelusi is a nurse, midwife and holds a degree in BSc Hons Health Studies and a PG. Diploma in Specialist Public Health Nursing from the University of North London. Lara believes that patient care should be her first priority.
She has worked in various nursing roles: Integrated Team midwife, specialist public health community practitioner and as an advanced nurse practitioner.
She specialised in sickle cell and thalassemia and worked as a Lead specialist Nurse & a manager. Lara managed the paediatric haemoglobinopathy service across Essex, engaging with key stakeholders in driving and shaping specialised children’s services especially children with sickle cell disease.
Alongside her management role, she undertook Quality Improvement training and has been actively involved in Quality Improvement since 2018. With her passion and keen interest to continually improve children’s service, this has led to taking up the opportunity of a secondment role as a Quality Improvement Nurse facilitator in 2019. She subsequently became a QI coach. She has constantly engaged and advocated for improvement in her sphere of practice and the wider professional circle. She is passionate about advocating for service users including children and families and the local community that she serves.
She enjoys reading, travelling, indulging in spa retreats, socialising and engaging in social events.
