Call for volunteers – Conference planning + ELFT Beats! drumming group

 15th February 2018

Want to gain experience in event delivery? Want a chance to perform with our very own ELFT Beats! Drummers (who performed at the Staff Awards at the Barbican)? If you said yes to one of those questions this might be the right opportunity for you.

You can choose one or both of the below:

Conference planning

CentrEd@Excel, Royal Victoria Dock, London, E16 1XL

We are currently looking for volunteers to support our Quality Conference, which will take place at CentrEd@Excel, on 24th April 2018. This opportunity is suitable for those who want to be involved in the planning and delivery of events. Roles include assisting with registration, room checking, directing delegates, greeting speakers, hospitality supervision, photography and filming, among others.

You would need to commit to either attend or watch one online planning session and be there early on the day:

  • Planning session (online) – early April (date/time TBC)
  •  Annual Quality Conference – 24th April, 8am – 2pm (lunch provided).

Drumming

ELFT Beats! performing at the Staff Awards ceremony, Barbican Centre, November 2017.

Energetic people are also needed to perform with the ELFT Beats! Drumming group, created within East London NHS Foundation Trust over the past year. The group is formed by ELFT Staff and service users, and supported by the expertise of the Pandemonium Drummers, with the help of Paul Griffiths from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Your participation will involve two fun workshop sessions with Paul Griffiths and ELFT staff, and the event day. Volunteer drummers are welcome to stay for the conference following the performance.

  • Practice sessions – 11/04 and 18/04 (Wednesdays). Refreshments from 5.30pm to 6.00pm. Rehearsal from 6.00pm to 7.30pm. Location: Training Room, Alie Street.
  • Event day – 24th April, 8am to 9.30am.

Please click here to register.

PLEASE NOTE: You must be part of ELFT or use ELFT services to take part.
