Testing out changes is the heart of QI, not only does it allow you to see if your ideas are effective, but it also helps you learn and develop new ideas through better understanding of the systems and processes involved.
Trying out a system change may feel daunting when consider the scale of some populations. Testing in the triple aim is no different from any other QI work, you want to start small first with a smaller number of citizens, where you can, especially if the idea is untried and you are not clear what the outcome may be. If you have a larger degree of belief that the change will work, you have good community support, and the risks are low, you then can test at larger scales. This could be especially relevant for community projects and wider interventions, but this can still involve piloting ideas on a smaller scale.
