Our 2019 conference will include:

  • Keynote Address by Jason Leitch, National Clinical Director of Healthcare Quality and Strategy, Scottish Government
  • Plenary session on what co-production is and what it isn’t
  • World Cafe sessions to learn about some of the work happening across ELFT using QI.

Optional Workshops

We will also be running the following optional afternoon workshops for external delegates:

  • Leadership for improvement – this session will be led by the ELFT executive team, helping senior leaders think about their role in building a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Tips and tricks for getting started with QI – a workshop led by senior improvement leaders who will help you think about how to get started with QI in your organisation.
  • Service User and Carer Involvement – Find out more about People Participation at ELFT and how you can support & encourage it in your organisation.
  • Global Health – How to get involved, improvement in low resource settings and the benefits of Reverse Innovation.

More about our Keynote Speaker

 

Jason is the National Clinical Director of Healthcare Quality and Strategy for the Scottish Government. He is responsible for quality in the health and social care system, including patient safety and person-centred care, NHS planning, and implementing quality improvement methods across the government and the broader public sector.

Biography

Jason has worked for the Scottish Government since 2007.

Jason is an Honorary Professor at the University of Dundee. From 2005 to 2006 he was a Quality Improvement Fellow at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, in Boston, sponsored by the Health Foundation. Jason is also a trustee of the UK wing of the Indian Rural Evangelical Fellowship which runs orphanages in southeast India.

He qualified as a dentist in 1991 and was as a Consultant Oral Surgeon in Glasgow. He has a doctorate from the University of Glasgow, a Masters in Public Health from Harvard and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

  • There is no fee for ELFT Staff, Service Users, Carers & Governors can attend the morning conference from 9.00 – 1.30pm
  • Tickets for External Delegates attending the morning conference (9.00-1.30pm) will be a minimal £90 to cover venue costs
  • Tickets for External delegates attending the morning conference and staying for an afternoon workshop will cost a total of £150
  • EARLY BIRD: we will have 30 discounted tickets for external guests, allocated on a first come, first served basis. Prices are £70 for morning conference only; £130 for morning conference and afternoon workshop.
