The ELFT Improvement Leaders’ Programme (ILP) course includes 8 face to face training days. The dates and structure of the course are listed below.
Important next steps for ILP delegates between November and December:
- Update your aim, measures and change ideas/driver diagram on QI Life following the 3 day workshop (if you have not already done so).
- If you have measures (and baseline data in place) get started with running your first PDSAs.
- If you don’t have baseline data, collect this first before starting with PDSAs, so you are able to understand the impact of your tests.
- Regularly meet with your QI coach and project team.

What are the pre-requisites?
- Attendees must have a QI project. The project selected needs to align with local directorate priorities and be approved by the respective DMT/QI sponsors.
- Attendees need to be able to commit to attending all training days and learning sets
What is the course length & structure?
- Total course length is 5 months, including:
- 5 full days of workshops

- Understanding the problem you are trying to tackle
- Developing aim statements and driver diagrams
- Measuring data for improvement
- Using Plan Do Study Act cycles to test change ideas
- Implementation and Quality control
