Improvement Science in Action (ISIA)
- Anybody leading QI projects
- Anybody who has completed Open School and Pocket QI and wants a deeper knowledge around QI
- QI sponsors
- DMT members
- Consultants and speciality doctors
- Senior nurses (band 6 and above)
- Senior pharmacists or senior technicians
- Psychologists


What are the pre-requisites?

Pocket QI
- There are no pre-requisites for this course. All ELFT staff, service users and carers welcome

Improvement Science in Action (ISIA)
- Attendees must have a QI project. The project selected needs to align with local directorate priorities and be approved by the respective DMT/QI sponsors.
- Attendees need to be able to commit to attending all training days and learning sets


What is the course length & structure?

Pocket QI
- Pocket QI is composed of two half day sessions in a classroom or virtual format
- Each part is 3.5 hours long. Either delivered 9.30-1.00pm, or 1.30- 5.00pm
- The course can be delivered over one day, and also virtually

Improvement Science in Action (ISIA)
- Total course length is 4 months, including:
- 6 Virtual Workshops and Action Learning Sets

- Overview to using QI
- Using measurement & data for improvement
- PDSAs and testing
- QI Tools

Improvement Science in Action (ISIA)
- Teaches QI project teams to refine their aims
- How to use Driver Diagrams to understand systems and prioritise change ideas and measure data for improvement
- How to test changes using Plan Do Study Act (PDSA)
