IHI Open School

  • Anybody interested in QI

Pocket QI

  • Anybody involved in QI work or wanting to learn more
  • ELFT staff, service users & carers

Improvement Science in Action (ISIA)

  • Anybody leading QI projects
  • Anybody who has completed Open School and Pocket QI and wants a deeper knowledge around QI
  • QI sponsors
  • DMT members
  • Consultants and speciality doctors
  • Senior nurses (band 6 and above)
  • Senior pharmacists or senior technicians
  • Psychologists

What are the pre-requisites?

IHI Open School

  • There are none!
  • Attendees can register at a time of their own choosing, select which modules they wish to complete and progress at their own rate

Pocket QI

  • There are no pre-requisites for this course. All ELFT staff, service users and carers welcome

Improvement Science in Action (ISIA)

  • Attendees must have a QI project. The project selected needs to align with local directorate priorities and be approved by the respective DMT/QI sponsors.
  • Attendees need to be able to commit to attending all training days, Webex conference calls and learning sets

What is the course length & structure?

IHI Open School

  • There is no pre-set length for Open School
  • Trainees can take as little or as long as they want to complete the modules.

Pocket QI

  • Pocket QI is composed of 2 modules in a class room format
  • Each modules is 3.5 hours long. Either delivered 9.30-1.00pm, or 1.30-5.00pm

Improvement Science in Action (ISIA)

  • Total course length is 6 months, including:
  • 7 days intensive training workshop

  • How to test changes using Plan Do Study Act (PDSA)

  • We run Pocket QI every month
