Who is it suitable for?

Pocket QI

  • Anybody involved in QI work or wanting to learn more
  • ELFT staff, service users, carers and volunteers

Improvement Science in Action (ISIA)

  • All staff members (nursing, clinical, operational, executive) in a leadership position are expected to complete the ILP
  • Any staff member of any level involved or leading a QI project
  • Any service user/carer who is involved in a QI project

What are the pre-requisites?

Pocket QI

  • There are no pre-requisites for this course. All ELFT staff, service users and carers welcome

Improvement Science in Action (ISIA)

  • Attendees must have a QI project. The project selected needs to align with local directorate priorities and be approved by the respective DMT/QI sponsors.
  • Attendees need to be able to commit to attending all training days and learning sets

What is the course length & structure?

Pocket QI

  • Pocket QI is composed of 2 modules in a class room format
  • Each modules is 3.5 hours long
  • A face to face cohort takes place over one day

Improvement Science in Action (ISIA)

  • Total course length is 5 months, including:
  • 5 full days of workshops

  • Overview to using QI
  • Using measurement & data for improvement
  • PDSAs and testing
  • QI Tools

Improvement Science in Action (ISIA)

  • Fundamentals of running successful QI projects
  • Understanding the problem you are trying to tackle
  • Developing aim statements and driver diagrams
  • Measuring data for improvement
  • Using Plan Do Study Act cycles to test change ideas
  • Implementation and Quality control

How often does this course run and how can I book a place?

Pocket QI

  • We run Pocket QI every month for ELFT staff, service users & carers

Improvement Science in Action (ISIA)

  • Runs once a year
  • Speak to your Directorate Management team if you are interested in joining
