The Specialist Children’s and Young Person’s Service: Joy and Enjoying Work

23 teams from across the Trust have applied to take part in Cohort 3 of the Enjoying Work Learning System, which will run alongside the Improvement Leaders’ Programme starting in September.
The Specialist Children’s and Young Person’s Service (SCYPS) based at West Ham Lane Health Centre are one of these teams. We sat down with Savannah Senior, Project Lead, to find out why this work is important to them and what they have been up to so far.
SCYPS understood from the beginning that representation was very important on their Enjoying Work journey. They have set about building a large project team, with Natalie Blanchard from their service championing their data and Rebecca Daniels from their directorate coaching them on their QI journey.
“We felt that it was really important to have representation from all of the different professional roles in our service, we are a large team after all – there are over 10 of us in our wider project team so far”
When asked about why they decided to bring this work to cohort 3 Savannah explained that their large team hosts staff from, various backgrounds and saw Cohort 3 as a great opportunity to get to know each other better and improve how they work together as a multidisciplinary team. Not only do they want to see the happiness levels of their team increase but they hope to improve the quality of care that they are able to provide their service users.

SCYPS are feeling inspired heading into Cohort 3, looking forward to testing out the change ideas the project team has come up with and feeling the impact of them. Desk Yoga sessions have already been organised!
