What is health equity?
There are many inequities and inequalities within and between the communities we serve across ELFT which have been further exacerbated during the pandemic. Equity is defined as the
“Absence of unfair, avoidable or remediable differences among groups of people, whether those groups are defined socially, economically, demographically, or geographically or by other dimensions of inequality”
Supporting teams to Pursue Equity
In response to the trust strategy to improve quality of life for all we serve, the trust has launched a QI programme on Pursuing Equity. The programme has been designed in partnership with colleagues from public health, people participation, the trust’s networks and the QI department and began in April 2022
The programme is bringing teams together from across the trust to use QI to tackle and aspect of equity in their area of work.
Below you will find a collection of helpful resources around equity to guide your improvement work and learning from the equity programme.

-
- What data to use to help you understand inequities in your population
- Where you can access that data
- How to analyse it to move to meaningful action
