Wave 7 Improvement Leaders’ Programme

On 3 October around 120 ELFT staff came together for the beginning of their 6 month journey on the Improvement Leaders’ Programme or ILP for short.

Teams from across the Trust spent a day at Shoreditch Town Hall developing the Quality Improvement projects they will be working on. On day 1 of the ILP programme we work with teams on:

  • Deciding what to improve
  • When to use QI
  • Dealing with complex problems and the messiness of life
  • Think about team structure
  • How to involve Service Users & Carers

QI Coaches, People Participation Leads and Service User & Carers joined us on the day along work with teams on practical next steps. Our Service Users and Carers also ran an hour long session on involvement, offering their top tips and guidance. You can find some of the resources shared in this session here>>

The Improvement Leaders’ programme incorporates IHI’s Improvement Science in Action course, which 690 ELFT staff, service users and carers have taken part in since 2014 in six waves of training.

We look forward to seeing how all of these teams progress with their improvement work over the next 6 months.
